How do I restore my purchase?

Open Settings — on the title screen, or the slider icon at the top of the terminal — and tap Restore purchase under Full course. Use the Apple ID you bought it with. The same button is on the screen that appears after lesson 3.

What is free?

The prologue and lessons 1–3: the whole command-line half. The SQL lessons, the finale and practice mode are part of the one-time unlock. There is no subscription.

I'm stuck on a lesson.

Type hint in the terminal. Hints come in four steps, from a nudge to a command you can type. The book icon opens the manual, with the syntax of every command and every table's columns.

Do I need an internet connection?

Only to buy or restore. Everything else runs on the device.

How do I change the language?

The course follows your device language — English or Simplified Chinese. To change it for this app only, open the iOS Settings app, then Manual Override, then Language. Each language keeps its own progress.

How do I start over?

On the title screen, choose Start over. Your purchase is not affected.

Is this a real terminal?

No. It is a simulation that behaves like the GNU and POSIX tools it teaches, running against files and a read-only database that ship with the app. It cannot touch anything else on your device.
